Endowed Faculty Chair in Civil Engineering Materials at Mississippi State
University. The Department of Civil Engineering at Mississippi State
University invites applications for a chaired faculty position in the area
of ENGINEERING AND PAVEMENT MATERIALS. It is anticipated that the position
will be filled at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Applicants should
demonstrate that they are capable of leading a departmental effort to
upgrade the teaching and research in the area of engineering/pavement
materials. The successful applicant must be able to develop and sustain
relationships with the State Department of Transportation and the
materials-related industries in the State in order that external funding be
provided for the program. Applicants must have a BS degree and an earned
doctorate in Civil Engineering or closely related field. The applicant must
have a documented record of attracting externally-funded research, as well
as a record of scholarly publications.  Professional Engineer registration
or the ability to obtain professional registration is a requirement for the
position. The applicant must demonstrate strong verbal and written
communication skills.  The Civil Engineering Department at Mississippi State
University currently has 10 faculty, 220 undergraduate students and research
