I'm not sure how much detail you are after, but the 1-page summary for
Co-57 in the Radionuclide and Radiation Protection Data Handbook 1998 is a
good starting point for your second question. The Handbook was published
by the journal Radiation Protection Dosimetry, as vol 76 Nos. 1-2, 1998
(ISBN 1 870965 51 5). It is useful for a whole range of radionuclides,
giving concise data for emissions, transport and exemption levels, external
dose rates from vials, point sources, beakers, plastic syringes, limits for
contamination (uniform or droplet) on skin, shielding, detector probes,
ingestion and inhalation dose coefficients, and maximum recommended
activities in low level and intermediate level laboratories.
