In what appears to be the tradition, may I introduce myself?
I am a science editor and writer in earth sciences (in the broadest sense).
I am Editor of the journal Astronomy & Geophysics for the Royal
Astronomical Society and I also teach in the department of earth sciences
at the University of Leeds. I also write about science for a general
audience and teach undergraduates about writing and communication skills as
part of the earth sciences course here at Leeds.
I am very concerned about the lack of scientific literacy in society--and
the lack of understanding of the rest of the world among scientists and
would be interested in talking more about ways to improve both of these
things.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
