Subject: Any new flint mines ?
Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]>
Does anyone know of any new discoveries of flint mines in the British Isles
and Ireland ? Recent fieldwork and survey by the former RCHME suggests that
currently there may be as few as 10/12 sites in England. Consequently the
identification and protection of new sites has to be a priority to help
protect a site type of such relatively small numbers.
