article I wrote for
the January 1993 "Mining Magazine" called "Underground Rail Track", which
might
make a chapter covering "up-to-date" track details.
This ran to about 3,000 words, discussing Track Laying, Gauge, Rails,
Fishplates,
Sleepers (Ties) and Rail Fastenings, Support Media, Curved Track, Turnouts,
Ancillaries, Inspection and Maintenance. Three tables listed suppliers
track of
components: of concrete sleepers; and manufacturers of track maintenance
machines, in locations ranging from Australia, Austria. Germany, South
Africa,
U.K., and U.S.A.
