I think that Auden's use of Lot's Wife as a location (possibly) near
Arncliffe (in Littondale) is poetic licence. For example, there is no
mention of such a name in the Barmaster's books, which name
many veins in that area. See my Wharfedale Mines - British
Mining No.49.
Likewise, Hubnub and Blobber are not vein names from Yorkshire.
There is a Blucher Vein (what a surprise, it's near a Wellington
Vein) at Hurst, in Swaledale.
