I realise that this isn't quite a re-driven level, but a query
inspired by Mike Gills comments on surveying. Is anyone aware as to why
Level Fawr at Pontrhydygroes, Cardiganshire, suffered such a surveying
error as to result in a substantial step of some ~10-12ft. where it met
the level driven in the opposite from the Glogue Fach/Glogue Fawr
workings? (A slight sideways offset of ~5-4ft. also occurred) The
height of the level from the latter was substantially increased, i.e.
the floor was lowered near the intersection by a further ~10+ft. to
reduce the step.
I take it that I am correct in assuming this is a surveying error?
Let ye Gods strike me down if I'm wrong!
