>From Peter Rivett Torquay
In my researches on Sark, I have seen assay values for silver at, 10 to 15 oz
per ton, 37 oz per ton, 317 oz per ton and 530 oz per ton. To a layman, these
values seem like swinging from pessimistic to ecstatic. Can anyone put these
values into context in terms of economic value ? At what values would such
assay values move from not worth exploiting to highly desireable ?
Also would it be possible at the mine to visually sort the ore to avoid
sending a lot of dirt to the UK for smelting ?
In case you are wondering who could be on the net asking such basic questions,
I would point out that Sark silver is but a small fraction of the subjects I
am covering.
How would silver ore be assayed on Sark, would it be on a small sample or
would a ton of ore actually be dug and examined for the silver content.
Thanks in advance.
