Hi -
I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. When I was taking my
last maternal and child nutrition program, I remember our professor talking
about vitamin K that is given to newborns. She mentioned that in the UK,
about half the babies get vitamin K by injection, and the other half
receive it orally. Follow up studies apparently showed that the kids who
received the injection had a higher incidence of childhood leukemia. I
can't seem to find any reference on this, and that particular professor is
out of the country at this time. Has anyone heard or seen anything related
to this issue?
Thanks-
Maureen Spence, MS, RD
