I'm taking the opportunity to forward this message from FICINO. The
relevant web page is at http://www.r-s-a.org/pub/rnn/10-2/grants.html and
I note that eligibility is on the basis of membership of the RSA for 3
years prior to the application (graduate students: 1 year).

Dear colleague,
This is just a reminder that the Renaissance Society of America
has an increased amount of research grant money to distribute this coming
year. To be precise, we shall be awarding thirteen grants, nine in all
fields and four in art history. The grants range in size from $1,000 to
$5,000, and they are immensely easy to apply for (no letters of
recommendation; just a short description, budget, and c.v.). Non-doctoral
applicants, younger scholars, and senior scholars will compete in separate
categories. Paul Grendler lays out the drill on page 3 of the September
RNN issue, which is also available on the RSA website (www.r-s-a.org). The
deadline is 1 November 1999. So there is not much time. We want to advance
your scholarship by giving you support. Don't disappoint us. Apply!
Cordially,
John Monfasani
