DEPARTMENT OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
RESEARCH FELLOW - DIGITAL PERFORMANCE
£14,400 - £21,603 per annum
A Research Fellow is required to collect, collate and critically analyse
information on contemporary digital performance with particular reference to
on-line sources, use of digital media in performance and applications in
critical analyses.
This opportunity arises due to an award by the Arts and Humanities Research
Board to The Digital Performance Archive (DPA), a joint project by
Nottingham Trent and Salford Universities to undertake a major collection
and analysis of digital performance events and developments that have
occurred during the 1990s. The project will also demand research skills to
trace, negotiate and archive antecedents.
You will be expected to be familiar with e-mail, Internet and database
procedures. A familiarity with digitized still and moving imagery, digital
sound capture and web site design is desirable and experience of the
production of CDs/DVDs advantageous.
You should have good written and spoken presentation skills and be an
experienced report writer.
An appropriate post-graduate research qualification (preferably a PhD) is
essential together with knowledge of digital performance applications.
It is desirable that you are able to join the project immediately. The post
will be for a period of 12 months which may be extended for a further
consecutive 12 month period.
