Northern Media Research Group
CALL FOR PAPERS for NMRG6
Newcastle upon Tyne
Saturday 24 April 1999, 10.30-16.30
A sixth NMRG conference is planned in Newcastle on 24 April 1999.
Offers of papers addressing any issue in French media are welcome.
Papers should be about 30-40 minutes duration, in order to leave time
for discussion and to allow a range of papers to be presented during
the day's two sessions. There is no set theme to the day's
discussions, unless contributors wish to suggest linked papers
providing coverage of a specific topic or issue. Selected papers may
be published in the forthcoming NMRG Working Papers.
The Northern Media Research Group was founded in 1995 by Hugh Dauncey
(Newcastle University), Geoff Hare (Newcastle University) and Sheila
Perry (University of Northumbria). The NMRG provides a focus for all
interested in French media located in the North of England (very
broadly defined) and Scotland. Members of the group come however from
all over the UK (and France), and the bi-annual NMRG conferences
(usually organised in Newcastle) bring contributors and participants
from all over the country and from France. The conferences are open to
all interested in any aspect of French media, and Postgraduates are
welcome to participate (subsidy of PG attendance/speaking may be
available).
If you have a proposal for a paper for NMRG6, please send a short
abstract asap to the programme and venue organisers, Hugh Dauncey and
Geoff Hare, via email ([log in to unmask], [log in to unmask]) or
fax (0191-222-5442) or at the School of Modern Languages, Old Library
Building, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1
7RU.
If you would like to be added to our emailing list, please send us
your address. For more information about the NMRG in general or about
the sixth Conference, please see the easily-viewable WebSite located
