[Michael Cooper] Well, that's a very good point and highly
indicative of your Saturday morning activities.

[Michael Cooper] No it's not about dumbing down. It's about
tabloid journalism...

[Michael Cooper] According to the letter accompanying my
newly-arrived MGC Website mouse mat (for which many thanks - I needed a
new one!), the "choice" slot runs for 9 weeks and includes Judi Dench
and John Humphrys, so we can't really complain even if Chris Evans does
get to choose something! Anyway, it's always fun to see what sticks in
people's minds from museum visits.
Cheap jokes aside, I'm not carping about the MGC site. It's a
great idea and I intend to visit it regularly, assuming it grows as one
would expect. It would be interesting to see what the audience make-up
is, what proportion is the general public and what the museum
professional. Perhaps the URL is a very sensible attempt to widen the
appeal: www.museums rather than www.mgc. Between the MGC and the
excellent MDA site we'll be doing very well.
