Production Assistant, Centre for Maritime Research, National Maritime Museum: £11,250 - £15,890 + benefits
Fixed Term Contract
The new Millennium is imminent and with public interest greater than ever, we're going to great lengths to optimise how we present and give access to our Collections. Now an exciting opportunity has arisen at our Centre for Maritime Research - which manages our collections of manuscripts, historic photographs and ships' plans, and which has just opened a Search Station offering multimedia displays to the public.
You'll contribute to the production and delivery of materials for these displays and help with our image digitisation project. This will involve revising and improving data, researching and proofing future content materials, working closely with specialist staff to revise and build on data within the Museum's collections database. You'll also manage and register negatives, and liaise with researchers, contributors and front-of-house staff.
To be considered, you will be flexible with good interpersonal skills and an efficient, methodical approach to your work. You should have solid database skills, a strong eye for detail, excellent English and an enquiring mind. You must be highly PC literate and experience of working in a museum or archive would be advantageous.
Please send a letter and CV to: Personnel Services, National Maritime Museum, Park Row, Greenwich, London SE10 9NF. We are unable to apply to every applicant. If you do not hear from us within three weeks, please assume you have not been shortlisted.
Closing Date for receipt of applications: 2 August 1999.
