You are warmly invited to participate in PRESENCE 2000,
the third International Workshop on Presence.

AIMS

The central goal of the workshop is to provide an open discussion
forum in which we can share fruitful concepts for presence research,

useful measurement methodologies and discuss applications in areas
such as entertainment, education, communication and interface
design.

We aim to bring together academic researchers in the area of media
and presence, content and technology developers, and commercially
interested parties so that they can meet, learn from each other's
experiences, present their research, and exchange ideas.

The workshop invites submissions of original, high quality papers,
videos, and demonstrations discussing completed or on-going work
that addresses issues relevant to presence research. Contributions

	and problems.

Topics for submission to PRESENCE 2000 include, but are not limited

PUBLICATION

In order to allow attendees to read the short papers and
promote discussions prior to the workshop, accepted papers will
appear on the www.presence-research.org internet-site as an
electronic pre-publication. Efforts are being made towards the
possibility of publishing a post-workshop journal special issue
for which authors may be invited to write up a full paper.

SPONSORS

The Independent Television Commission (UK) has generously
agreed to be a sponsor for the event but the organisers of
PRESENCE 2000 are actively seeking support from other
