Hi Roy,
I have seen a couple of demos of this kind of application:
- A model of a 3XX interior by Airbus Industries
I actually saw it a couple of years ago - the application runtime
was "WorldToolkit" by Sense8 (now EAI), and we ran it on an SGI Onyx
here in our facility.
I recall that the modellers had used radiosity calculations to generate
the textures for a nice lighting effect.
Contact EAI/Sense8 for more info... http://www.sense8.com/
- A model of a Gulfstream Jet
This was running in Division's (now part of PTC) software dVise
(now dvMockup). Not sure what the background to this was (who created
it etc) - contact PTC/Division for more info...

Cheers,
Tom
