The DialogWeb Dialindex search (also known on DialogWeb as "Databases") has not
been withdrawn with the release of the version 2.0 of DialogWeb.
With the new version of DialogWeb, as you noted, when you go to
<http://www.dialogweb.com> you are now required to logon with your user id
before accessing any further pages. Once logged on, you are automatically taken
into Guided Search mode, and from here you can choose which subject areas you
wish to search. DialogWeb will then give you database selections to choose from
and a search form to complete.
In order to access Dialindex (known as "Databases"), as you are used to doing,
you should enter Command Search (see link at bottom right of the Guided Search
page). Once in Command Search mode, you can choose to start command searching
straight away or use Dialindex "Databases". If you choose to use Dialindex
"Databases", this is available at no charge.
If you prefer to have Command Search as your default search mode, this can be
done by clicking on ?Settings? whilst in Guided Search Mode. Each time you log
on thereafter you will then be taken straight into Command Search Mode and will
have the option to use Dialindex "Databases".
We apologise for any confusion this change may have caused and have passed on
your comments to our product development team.
If anyone has any further queries about the new version of DialogWeb, please do
not hesitate to contact The Dialog Corporation helpdesk on 0800 690 000.
