The new version features:

continues to allow you to find the most appropriate databases for your
search topic at no charge, but now it uses the improved hierarchy

Alerts.
- - - New Guided Search feature for setting preferences, such as
defaultdisplay formats or search limits.

Some points to note:
- requires Netscape Navigator/Communicator 3.04 or higher, or Microsoft Internet
Explorer 3.02 or higher (4.x recommended)
- JavaScript enabled
- cookies must be accepted
- colour 256 or higher (mostly black on white, with blue hyperlinks and banners
of pale blue or pale yellow, plus some tiny red dots and arrows)
- access to "full content" of more than 450 Dialog databases
In Guided Search:
- "targeted search" i.e. search form for common approaches e.g. author, trade
mark, available in some, not all, databases
- "dynamic search" gives form specific to particular categories or databases
- new abbreviated display of search results "Picklist" automatically appears,
showing title or equivalent e.g. company name, plus the publication date,
IF there is no charge. Also gives price per record.
- help screens open new window
Plenty of information available on the Dialog website e.g. overview, what's new,
FAQs, preview, tutorial, release notes, technical requirements etc.
