     A one-day training workshop, 28th January 2000
     
     Discover sites which provide free sector-specific information.
     
     Understand why companies put information on the Internet.
     
     Identify which types of search play to the Internet's strengths, and 
     which searches are best done by other means.
     
     Gain detailed advice on how to do your searches better.
     
     The coure leader is Sheila Webber, Lecturer, Department of Information 
     Science, University of Srathclyde. An Internet commentator of wide 
     experience, Sheila is responsible for the award-winning web site 
     `Business Information Sources on the Internet', 
     www.dis.strath.ac.uk/business/
     
     During the hands-on practice sessions, delegates can try out their own 
     searches and experiment with priced Internet services, eg. Dow Jones 
     Interactive. Documentation will include a listing of about 150 web 
     sources, search tips, and individual search sheets for major search 
     engines.
     
     Venue: The British Library, St Pancras, London NW1.
     Date: Friday 28th January 2000
     Start time: 9.30 am
     Fee: £190 + VAT (£223.25 inclusive) including lunch

     £175 (£205.63) will apply.
