City Information Group Seminar - 16 November 1999
Knowledge Management: Making It Work
This seminar is about that stage when all the principals and goals of
knowledge management have been agreed and the textbooks consulted -
translating theory into practice. We have sought out three practitioners who
have experience of having to find and apply knowledge management solutions
for very different challenges.
Adrian del Maestro, Ernst & Young
Ernst & Young has been accredited as being pioneering in the development of
best practice in knowledge management. Adrian works within the Energy Group
and has been responsible for introducing KM and smarter working practices
within the group. He will share some insights into the successes and
failures of implementation.
Julia Stocken, Egon Zehnder International
Julia has been responsible for the development of a specialist database,
designed to accommodate the requirements of end users in very different
geographic locations and market sectors. This has meant designing a
comprehensive and sensitive thesaurus suitable for a global partnership
organisation. Julia will explain how EZI were able to steer a path through
opinion and radically influence working practices to make a cohesive system.
Ron Young, Knowledge Associates
Knowledge Associates is an international management and technology
consulting organisation, with Headquarters in Cambridge UK and Knowledge
Centers in Europe, USA and Singapore. The organisation helps its clients
make the transition from information management to strategic knowledge
management. Ron will speak about how to make smart technical solutions work
in the real world - focusing on how people and processes can achieve clear
strategic goals.
