Integrate, Co-operate, Innovate II:
eLib Phase 3 in Context
Open University Conference Centre
24-25 November 1999
After the success of last year’s Integrate, Co-operate, Innovate
Conference about Hybrid Libraries and resource sharing, reporting on
eLib Phase 3 projects, the second conference will be held at the Open
University Conference Centre, Gray’s Inn Road, London. The aim of
this non-residential conference is to explore the challenges facing
academic Library and Information Services as the hybrid library
develops. The event is timely as many of the Phase 3 projects are now
developing into full-scale, operational services.
In addition to presentations and discussion time, this year’s event
will also include a half-day session focusing on the Phase 3 CLUMPS
projects, some of which are entering their final stages.
The core of the conference will consist of five themed sessions, with
presentations both from Phase 3 projects AND from leading academic,
library and computing professionals who are not directly involved in
Phase 3. The conference themes are as follows:
· The new information landscapes: responding to the user.
· New services: new demands?
· Technological issues: where are we now?
· The manager’s viewpoint.
· Library services and faculty: new partnerships?
Who should attend?
The conference will be of topical interest to Library and Information
Service managers who are already involved in, or who are preparing
for, the development of hybrid services and resource sharing. It will
also be extremely relevant to service staff at the sharp end of
information provision and user support.
What will it cost?
£130 (inc VAT) for two days (not including buffet supper)
