Has anyone come across the following problem please? (or can anyone cast any
light on it ).
2 weeks ago, when attempting to connect to www.yahoo.co.uk, which I use
reguarly without any problems, I was, without any warning, diverted to a site
with the following address:
http://www.egrops.com/index.html#yahoo.co.uk
Then, again with no warning, it started to download something to my PC, the
message began "Downloading 507....", but I closed the connection before it
could complete. This happened again, later the same day. It has takem almost
2 weeks to get a response from yahoo, who think it is a a local problem on my
PC. My virus checker (Norton v 5) has also started behaving oddly, opening
the 'live Update' screen every time I turn my PC on, & appears to have
deleted one of it's updates. Eventually, after talking to Symantecs about
their Antivirus product, I transferred an 'intelligent update' from their FTP
site (which was dated friday 13th!) - & things seem to be ok now. They seem
confident that their FTP site is secure, although there is a rumour that
hackers got into their web site recently. However I would be glad to hear if
anyone else has had similar problems please.
