The coverage and accessibility of the new BT Phone book is generating
much discussion in various conferences, Newsgroups and discussion
lists.
A couple of people have contacted me to say that their numbers *are*
included in the directory even though they do not use BT. A few
others have confirmed the situation in Reading - that is
customers of some of the alternative telcos are *not* listed.
There have been reports of people being included even though they are
ex-directory and of *not* being included despite being in the printed
directory. You may wish to check your own entry to confirm your
presence or absence.
The format of the addresses is variable with different layouts for
people living a few doors from each other.
Accessibility is another bone of contention. Access here at RBA is
erratic but not a serious problem; others report intermittent blank
pages; and some have reported that their firewall blocks access
altogether!
Are there any other "features" that should be added to the list?
