INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL SCIENCE INFORMATION SOURCES
A one day training course at the British Library
4th June 1999
This new course is aimed at those needing information about all
aspects of the social sciences, and will discuss the strengths and
weaknesses of the different sources: journal articles, citation
indexes, grey literature and official information via CD-ROM, online
and the Internet.
A major section of the course features internet access via the SOSIG
(Social Sciences Information Gateway) project.
The course is aimed at both information workers and end users. You can
save time and money, if you know which sources are more suitable for
each distinct need.
The course leader is Jennie Grimshaw, head of the Social Policy
Information Service. She is assisted by experienced speakers,
well-qualified in their chosen fields
