Knowledge Officer for the National electronic Library for Mental
Health (NeLMH)
Centre for Evidence Based Mental Health (CEBMH)Department of
Psychiatry, University of Oxford http://www.cebmh.com/
CEBMH has been given the responsibility to develop one of the first
virtual branch libraries within the National electronic Library for
Health (http://www.nelh.nhs.uk).
The NeLMH will:
- be obsessed with the quality of knowledge
- be concerned with both knowledge and the skills to manage and apply
that knowledge
- be equally open to patients and clinicians
- be able to create and sustain communities of users

The position will be full-time for 12 months in the first instance and
will be graded on Research staff 1A (20,107- 21,815 per annum). The
successful candidate will work with: Prof Guy Goodwin, Head of Department,
Dept of Psychiatry Dr John Geddes, Director, CEBMH Mr Andre
Tomlin,Director of Knowledge Services, CEBMH Responsibilities:
1. Take responsibility for the design and development of the NeLMH.
2. Co-ordinate the NeLMH network of librarians, clinical governance
leads,and knowledge producers.
3. Take responsibility for the development of the NeLMH search strategyfor
identification of new material.
4. Take responsibility for the cataloguing and classification of materialfor
inclusion in the NeLMH.
5. Take responsibility for the critical appraisal of material forinclusion in
NeLMH.
6. Assist in the maintenance and development of the Centre’s
website, particularly the toolkit section to support NeLMH end-useractivities.
7. Assist in the production of systematic reviews relating to the
effectiveness of treatments for mood disorder (depressive disorder
and bipolar affective disorder).
