The collection I intend to introduce here is "The Encyclopedia of
Shi'a", edited by A. Sadr, K. Fani and B. Khorramshahi, and published
by The Said Mohebbi's Publishing House. Seven volumes of this large
encyclopedia have been published so far, the first ("Aab-Ehya") in
1996 and the most recent, vol. 7 ("khatam-dieh"), in 1999. The
principle writers of the material presented in this collection
include well known figures such as:
Dr. Parviz Azkaaie: The introduction of certain sections, articles on
Astronomy and various Biographies.
Morteza Assa'adi: Material concerning the History and Geography of
various nations of the world.
Hassan Anousheh: Articles on History, Geography, Persian literature

Seyed Mehdi Ha'eri Qazvini: The Biography of certain dignitaries,
Prayers and "Hadith"s.

the Holy Koran.
Dr. Asghar Dadbeh: Articles on Logic and Ethics.
Abolghassem Rafii Mehrabadi: The biography of a certain artists.
Dr. Mohammad Hossein Rohani: The introduction of books.
The late Dr. Abbass Zaryab-Khoie: Material on various subjects such as
the history of the first years of Islam, descriptions of the life
and characters of the Imams and the "Sahabeh".
Abdolhossein Shahidi Salehi: Holy burial sites, the life of the
descendants of the prophet and various other biographies.
Dr. Hossein Ghareh-Chanlou: Articles on Historical geography and the
"Imamzadeh"s.
Dr. Hossein Kariman: Articles on Historical geography, the
"Imamzadehs" and the biography of a number of dignitaries.
Dr. Mohammad-Hossein Mashayekh Faridani: the Shi'it culture in the
subcontinent of India, Arab literature.
Dr. Parviz Varjavand: The introduction of various tombs,
"Imamzadeh"s, articles on archaeology and art.
