Many apologies, in my haste I omitted to indicate that the article
below was published in 1905. (Thanks, Jim) Hence my call for
help. Does anyone have a set of the journal going back that far
who would be prepared to scan the index for a continuation of the
article? I don't have access to any contemporary indexes of
medical literature (i.e. early 20th century).
PAUL PORTAL (17th century obstetrician)
We recently obtained a copy of the following article for a tutor here:
CUMSTON, Charles Green
Paul Portal: his life and treatise on obstetrics, with reflections on
the science of the obstetrical art in France from the Renaissance
to the 18th century. American Journal of Obstetrics, LI, 778-804.
The article concludes with the tantalising words: To be continued.
Obviously, our reader would like to see this continuation but neither
she nor I are in a position to verify the existence or bibliographic
details of this second article.
Can any kind soul help or offer any pointers?
Best wishes
