Consumer Health Care Information on the Internet
A half-day training course designed to help patients, carers and
health care professionals search the Internet more effectively. The
course focuses on World Wide Web sites and newslists - delegates will
receive a list of key URLs for future reference. Taught by Claire
Pillar of Help for Health Trust - the leading consumer health
information service.

Sources of Health Care Information
Featuring a number of expert speakers, this popular one-day course is
designed to introduce researchers and information workers to a wide

Biomedical Information on the Internet
Anyone working in the broad fields of biomedicine and healthcare will
benefit from this one-day informal, interactive `hands on' (paired)
workshop. Taught by Alain Besson, Medical Systems Librarian at St
Bartholomew's and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Alain has several years' experience of the Internet, he has designed
Web pages for the School of Medicine and Dentistry and the School
Library.

Making the Transition: Converting to PubMed and Internet Grateful Med
to search NLM's databases
This one-day course introduces the search techniques employed to
search National Library of Medicine databases using the two free
web-based interfaces, PubMed and Internet Grateful Med. It includes
which databases are available for which interface, how to search on
each system, and printing or downloading records. The course will be
taught by Tony McCulloch, a medical information specialist from the
British Library Health Care Information Service (HCIS). Tony has over
10 years experience in using MEDLINE.

index to medical information. To search the database properly you need
to understand how the information has been indexed and how to find the
right search terms to use.This one-day workshop will help you to do
