BIOME Service Officer
================================
An enthusiastic and committed information professional is required to join
the newly created BIOME Service team. The BIOME Service will form part of
the JISC Resource Discovery Network, incorporating the current OMNI
subject gateway services, but with extended subject coverage, including
all of the life, medical and health sciences. BIOME services will be
produced by a consortium of eight partners, led by The University of
Nottingham.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the addition of new
resources to BIOME, maintenance of the existing data and records,
production of training and support materials and liaison with a range of
partners and users of the BIOME service.
Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills, an
awareness of Internet based subject services and familiarity with standard
office software. Experience of biomedical information sources and
knowledge of MeSH will be an advantage. Applications from students
completing library and information studies qualifications, who have an
enthusiasm for Internet-based services are welcome.
Salary will be within the range 15,735 - 17,570 per annum (under review),
depending on qualifications and experience. This post will be offered
on a fixed-term contract for a period of three years.
