Course Developer/Research Assistant
6 months full-time
The Department of Information Science requires a course developer to
identify and adapt training and teaching materials for managers and
information professionals in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
The project is funded by the British Council to provide the Institute of
Scientific and Technical Information in Beijing, Peoples Republic of China,
with examples and models of teaching materials that can be further
developed by them.
Under the supervision of the project team you will: identify existing
training materials, assess their suitability for the project, create any
necessary new materials including case studies, and prepare classroom aids
(e.g. notes, transparencies, handouts which may include Computer-Aided
Learning (CAL) approaches).
The following are considered essential: ability to work independently,
appropriate subject qualification, preferably at postgraduate level, IT
knowledge and skills. The following are preferable: knowledge of business
information, experience of delivering training or education, a professional
qualification and/or Master's degree in librarianship or information
science. It would be desirable to have an interest in China and the
Asia-Pacific region and the use of CAL.
Salary range RA1A is currently £15735 - £23651 per annum.
