St Pancras Reading Rooms
Saturday 30 January 1999
Reduced service for readers
As part of the British Library's programme of opening reading rooms,
we regret that the computer systems will not be available on Saturday
30 January 1999. There will be a reduced service for readers at the
British Library at St Pancras on this day.
The Humanities, Rare Books and Music, Manuscripts, Oriental and India
Office and Maps reading rooms will be open from 9.30 to 17.00 hours on
Saturday 30 January 1999. However, the Online Catalogue and automated
ordering facility will not be available and it will not be possible to
deliver items from basements or outhouses (orders for western
manuscripts will not be affected).
Readers will be able to use books held on reserve in reading rooms
from a previous visit. Advance orders intended for use on the Saturday
will need to be made for Friday 29 January: these will be held for
readers.
Reader Admissions & Reader Services Enquiries
The Reader Admissions Office will provide information about access to
the Library but no new readers will be admitted on 30 January 1999.
Reader Services Enquiries (which takes advance reservations and
provides general information) will not be able to search the
catalogues or accept advance reservations on 30 January 1999.
The British Library would like to apologise for any inconvenience this
may cause.
