Folks- a friend of mine is reading Trollope- one of the
Barchester novels- in which the Earl of somethingorother is
described as receiving a telegram in his "inner library." Since
my friend is under the impression that I know everything there is
to know about libraries, he asked me what the inner library might
be. One can make a good guess based on the descriptive term, but
in spite of his faith in me, I am pretty much clueless as to the
reality of the situation. Any kind words of wisdom on inner
libraries?
many thanks!
