SPECIAL COLLECTIONS READING ROOM AT KING'S COLLEGE LONDON
King's College London is pleased to announce the opening of a
new Reading Room for the consultation of items from its Special
Collections. The Reading Room is located at the Library's
Hampstead campus and enables the College to provide for the
first time appropriate on-site consultation facilities for
Special Collections material.
The Hampstead facility also contains a new Rare Books Store,
built to BS5454 standards, for the storage of the 11,000 items
in the Library's Rare Books Collection, and over 6,000 linear
metres of mobile shelving spread across two floors, to house the
Library's Store and other Special Collections material.
For further information, including details of opening hours
and admission arrangements, please consult the King's
Special Collections web pages at:
http://www.kcl.ac.uk/kis/support/lib/coll/specoll.htm
or contact Katie Sambrook, the Special Collections
Librarian (contact details below), who will be happy to
provide further information. A hard copy promotional
leaflet has also been produced, and copies are available
upon request.
