In the light of the upcoming Day Conference at Liverpool John Moore's
University entitled "Gendering Library History", there is a very valuable
and stimulating article in the current _Libraries and Culture_, 34.1 Winter
1999, 52-63.
Written by Evelyn Kerslake, joint coordinator of the Conference on Saturday
May15th, the article is 'Constructing Women in Library Studies: Reponding (sic.)
to Julia Taylor's "Left on the Shelf"', and uses Taylor's article in _Library
History_ 11 1995, 96-107 to outline a discursive feminist approach to library
history.
