Issue 3 of RED Letter, the newsletter of the Reading Experience Database
(RED), is currently available. It contains news of research projects and
conferences relevant to those interested in the history of reading, and aims
to introduce new contributors to the database.
RED is an international project run jointly by the British Library and the
Open University. It aims to record the reading experience of those born or
living in the British Isles from the period 1450-1914. The RED project would
like you to contribute information to the database by completing a RED form
giving the details of evidence that you have of relevant reading experience.
We are keen to gather evidence of all sorts of reading including magazines,
posters and other ephemera, as well as books. The RED form can be accessed
via the Internet at:

RED Letter is available in both electronic and hard copy formats. If you

no charge, but please specify the format that you prefer. If you require
