A collection of books has formed an integral part of Lincoln Cathedral's
foundation from its earliest years, although it was not until the 1420s
that a library was built to house it. This lecture will investigate the
growth and deveopment of Lincoln's medieval manuscript library, and the
impact on it, in the mid fifteenth century, of the invention of
printing.
