Hello...I have a question for the ILL community (or at least a part of it)
regarding charging practices for ill. We currently charge all costs /
transactions to an 'account' that each school within our institution
maintains with the Library. To date, we have not charged individual
students nor handled cash.
We have, however, now had a request from one school to change our
practices to start charging individuals. We are concerned about the
implications for our service in doing this. From those institutions that
charge individuals directly we would interested to know what has your
experience been, and what recommendations you might have for good
practice or policy? Further, if you had the opportunity, would you
prefer a system of charging schools or departments solely?
