Following on from the discussion of Professional issues, I have a number of
queries which may be peculiar to my job, though any suggestions on how to
approach them would be welcomed.
I registered on Route B while working for a Business Link Information Centre
and the idea of a portfolio submission appealed to me so I started
collecting things to go into it. However halfway through, I changed jobs
and now work in a completely different environment as a one-man band
Information Specialist supporting the Telecoms and Internet teams in the
Corporate Finance division of an investment bank (we also have an
Information Centre which deals with non telecoms specific queries so I'm not
completely isolated). I also look after the internal resources generated by
the team, as well as dealing with enquiry work, subscriptions etc. Most of
what I do is confidential, which may reduce the feasibility of including it
in a portfolio, and doesn't neatly fit into the headings outlined in the
criteria for chartership. Does anyone have any ideas on how to include
things like supervision of staff and professional issues in a portfolio? At
present, I'm considering on giving up on the portfolio idea and writing a
report.
Any advice appreciated.
