The COPAC Service (along with some other Manchester Computing National
Services) will be unavailable from 20:00 p.m. Friday 20th August until
8:00 am Monday 23rd August.
Owing to a spate of recent hardware problems which have caused
interruptions to the user service Sun will be performing a series of
stress tests on the main National Services computer in order to
identify whether any hardware problems remain and to take appropriate
action. The decision to take the computer out of service has not been
made lightly but it was felt to be important that any remaining
hardware problems are identified and resolved before the start of the
next academic year.
