Apologies for Cross Posting
'Early Medieval Europe' (EME) provides an indispensable source of
information and debate on the history of Europe from the later Roman Empire
to the eleventh century. The journal is a thoroughly interdisciplinary
forum, encouraging the discussion of archaeology, numismatics, palaeography,
diplomatic, literature, onomastics, art history, linguistics and epigraphy,
as well as more traditional historical approaches.
EME covers Europe in its entirety, including material on Iceland, Ireland,
the British Isles, Scandinavia and Continental Europe (both west and east).
It is unique in its chronological, methodological and geographical scope.
Filling an important gap, it is indispensable reading for all students and
scholars of the early medieval world.
EME is actively seeking to include more archaeological papers in forthcoming
issues. The editors are particularly interested in papers which will make
current archaeological debates and issues, as well as new discoveries,
accessible to historians and other scholars. Illustrations of artifacts,
site plans, maps, etc. are welcomed, although EME is not a suitable forum
for excavation reports per se. Areas of interest to the journal include
settlement and landscape, technology, burial rite and the relationship of
material culture to early medieval social structure.
