An international lawyer at Dept of International Relations, Middle East
Technical University, Ankara, I have been researching Central Asian
boundaries for some time. Included in the research are border disputes,
both among Central Asian states and in the relations of these states
with China, transboundary water disputes (including the Caspian),
transboundary environmental (particularly the Aral Sea) and
drugs-trafficking problems. I would very much appreciate correspondence
on the Kyrgyz-Chinese, Tajik-Chinese border initiatives (there is scarce
published information on these) and arrangements of the riparian states
over the Amur and Syr Daryas in the Soviet and post-Soviet eras.
Regards,
Necati Polat
