Dear International-Boundary list members,
This is just a quick note to introduce myself to the Int-Boundaries list.
I work for Wood Mackenzie (http://www.woodmac.com), producing maps
covering the oil/gas/energy industries in many parts of the world. A quick
look at our web-site will let you know what we do.
The potential for oil and gas discoveries seems to be a recurring theme
wherever international boundaries are in dispute. Covering areas such as
the North Sea, South China Sea, Gulf of Thailand, Gulf of Mexico and
Caspian Sea (amongst others), I need to keep abreast of developments in
this field.. The resolution of long-running disputes between UK/F
©ˇroes
and, over the past few years, Thailand/Malaysia, Malaysia/Vietnam,
Australia/Indonesia, have all involved the potential for oil and gas
discoveries.
The Thailand/Malaysia Joint Development Area is a case in point.
Exploration in this area was delayed until 1994. Since then, 11 fields
have been discovered.
I posted the Scotland/England Fisheries limit on Friday 28th May. As a
Scotsman, this is a subject close to my heart (as well as being just down
the coast from my Edinburgh home!). Just e-mail me if you need more
details.
I look forward to visiting the site regularly and will let you know of
anything I come across.
Kind regards,
Brian Forrester
