Dear Colleagues;
I am working on a map of Southern and Central Sudan
for a few non-governmental organizations. The state
boundaries within Sudan are depicted very differently
on the many maps we have consulted. The locations of
these boundaries in two digital Arc/Info files posted
on the US Geological Survey's web site do not agree
with one another.
I would greatly appreciate any leads on accurate
sources for these boundaries; because of current
issues, we are most interested in the Kordofan/Upper
Nile boundary (or, as the states were reconfigured in
1994, the boundaries between Western Kordofan,
Southern Kordofan and Unity/Wahda states).
Sources of autoritative paper maps (whether historical
or current), GIS files or lists of coordinates would
all be very useful. Thanks very much for any
assistance you can provide.
