I would like to take a moment to remind all int-boundaries members of a few
basic points of 'netiquette' to bear in mind when posting messages to the
list:
1) Messages concerning list administration should not be sent to the main
list address ([log in to unmask]). If you wish to unsubscribe
from the list, you should do so by sending a message to
[log in to unmask] with the following command as the sole text of your
message:
leave int-boundaries
A detailed guide to the Mailbase system and the commands available to users
can be accessed via the int-boundaries web page at
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists-f-j/int-boundaries/, which also offers
access to messages posted to the list over the last two years.
2) Please do not attach files to messages posted to the list. Remember that
not everyone has high-speed access to the internet; messages with files
attached can take a long time to download and, in some cases, can result in
system crashes. If you wish to share information that cannot be pasted into
the body of an e-mail, please either post a message informing members that
the information is available and ask anyone interested in obtaining it to
contact you directly, or send it to me and I will make it available through
the Mailbase service.
3) Please send messages in plain text format. Although many e-mail programs
now offer the option of formatting the text of your message using different
fonts and heading styles etc., please remember that some people are only
able to read plain text messages; the more formatting you apply to a
message, the less likely such people are going to be able to understand what
you have written.
4) If your e-mail address changes, please unsubscribe your old address or
drop me a line and ask me to update your membership information. This will
save me from the aggravation of being bombarded with hundreds of 'user
unknown' messages.
These requests are made in the interest of keeping the int-boundaries list
as inclusive and efficient as possible. If anyone has any concerns about
them or any questions about the list in general, please don't hesitate to
drop me a line.
Best wishes,
m a r t i n
