GIS RESEARCH ASSISTANT (RA1B)
This is an exciting opportunity for a person with GIS and computing skills
to join the UK Small Area Health Statistics Unit, within the highly
research-oriented Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (web page:
www.med.ic.ac.uk/df/dfhm/index.htm).
The preferred candidate will have a formal qualification in GIS and,
ideally, one or two years of postgraduate experience within the GIS field.
Skills in some of the following are essential: ArcInfo (and preferably AML),
ArcView (and preferably Avenue), Oracle, Unix, Shell and C programming.
Knowledge of the issues involved in handling Census, postcode, geographical
and environmental data would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Appointment is for one year in the first instance. Salary will be in the
range £18,420 to £20,319, inclusive of London Allowance. Job description
