Appologies to multiple posting.
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We take great pleasure in inviting you to participate in the first Stephan
Mueller Conference of the European Geophysical Society (EGS) which will
take place in the Dead Sea, Israel, on June 11-16, 2000.
Details and forms in: http://www.tau.ac.il/~zviba/conference.html
The Dead Sea is situated in the Dead Sea rift, a large continental
transform which extends from the Red Sea to the Taurus collision zone in
Turkey.
The theme of the Conference is "From Continental Breakup to Collision".
Sessions will focus on themes related to various aspects of continental
breakup and continental collision at different scales.
A special feature of the Conference is that it will be host to the
eleventh and final workshop of the ILP Task Force "Origin of Sedimentary
Basins", thus providing opportunity for collaboration between Task Force
and Conference participants.
The Conference will consist of 3 days oral and poster sessions including
two half day field trip excursions to the Dead Sea rift. The field
excursions will focus on structural style and sedimentary patterns in the
rift zone.
We look forward to welcoming you in the Dead Sea in 2000.
