Hello,
I have heard from Robert Heimann, Vice-President International Council for
Applied Mineralogy (ICAM)and General Chairman ICAM 2000 that only one (1!)
paper from the UK has been submitted to the ICAM conference in Goettingen,
Germany, July 2000. He says the total submissions are
about 250 to date, so that the U.K. contingent is truly puny!
(Congratulations to whoever is UK sole representative)
Although the deadline for submission of preliminary abstracts has passed
already (October 15), abstracts will be accepted until the end of
November in order to encourage a greater contribution from the UK.
For further information please view ICAM's homepage at
http://www.bgr.de/icam2000
Best wishes,
Frances Wall
