The Bayerische Julius-Maximilians-Universitaet Wuerzburg, Institut fuer
Mineralogie und Kristallstrukturlehre, invites application for the
permanent, tenured position (salary group C4) of a
Full Professor for Mineralogy
(to succeed Professor Martin Okrusch), opening 1 January, 2001. The
successful applicant is expected
to teach compulsory courses in mineralogy and petrology on the
undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels,
to establish innovative research programs in mineralogy and petrology,
to cooperate with other research groups in geosciences and material
sciences of Wuerzburg University and the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate
Research,
to take the responsibility for the scientific supervision of the
Mineralogical Museum,
to participate in the academic self-administration.
Applications are invited from scientists holding relevant academic degrees
and displaying the requested scientific profile as well as some years of
teaching experience. Applicants are asked to submit a curriculum vitae, a
list of publications, a statement on the current and planned research, on
teaching activities and on successful funding applications, together with
5 reprints of significant papers, by 15 May, 1999, to the Dekan der
