up to 35,000 pounds sterling with potential for more
Do you want to push the frontiers of economics with one of the world's largest and most
powerful environmental regulators?
This is a unique opportunity for you to become involved in something a little different. The
Environment Agency, a major environmental regulator in England and Wales, has a principal
aim to work towards sustainable development, taking into account likely costs and benefits. It
also needs to respond to growing interest in regional economic development,
competitiveness, business engagement with the environment, and interest in novel regulatory
methods. This is where you come in.
Based at the Environment Agency Head Office in Bristol, and working directly to the Chief
Economist, you would become a recognised source of expertise within your professional field.
You will help the Environment Agency's approach to sustainable development in general, and
to economics in particular, by analysing trends and developments in economic thought and
practice, and by developing relevant policy options for the Agency.
A first degree in economics is essential, as is significant experience of putting economic
analysis to work successfully either in Government. Utility, Industry, Finance or Consultancy.
A further degree would certainly add weight to your application.
For more information please contact, Ronan Palmer on 01454-624349 (email

relevant information to him at Environment Agency, Rio House, Waterside Drive, Aztec West,
Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32 4UD. Completed applications to be received by 1st October.
