An Invitation and Call for Papers has just been issued for a
European Conference on: 'Sustainability and the Small Firm'.
The conference is being held in Erfurt, Germany, from 25-27 November
1999.
The conference will bring together small and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs), their representative bodies, and sustainability
experts, in order to discuss the key issues of the environmental
challenge. It will address questions such as:
- How is sustainability marketed to SMEs?
- What does sustainability mean for SMEs?
- How do SMEs take on board the principles and delivery of sustainability?
The conference will be of interest to SMEs and their partners, to
government agencies, to those researching into sustainability and the
small firm, and to public and private sector consultants and
trainers.
The conference is being organised by the seven partners of the
transnational project ECO 2000+, which is funded under the ESF Adapt
initiative. The UK partner comprises MMU, the NCBE and Nolan
Environmental, who are working together on the development and
delivery of a distance learning package on the environment,
specifically aimed at SMEs.
Deadlines for poster and paper abstract summaries is 5 October 1999.
